If you have been dismissed from the preparatory service of the State of Brandenburg after completing your legal preparatory service without having taken the examination by then, you can apply to take the examination outside the training relationship.

The prerequisite for participation is that you have been dismissed from the preparatory service of the State of Brandenburg after completing the legal preparatory service without having taken the examination by then.

Once you have submitted your application, you will be admitted to the examination.

Each examinee is invited by the Joint Legal Examination Office to prepare the proctoring papers. The written exams take place annually in March, June, September and December. The exams are corrected by a first and second correction. The oral examination takes place two months after the written examination. The subject of the oral examination is: the presentation of files in a chosen professional field according to § 27 para. 3 BbgJAO, and an examination in each of the compulsory subjects (criminal law, civil law and public law).

The examination process takes about 3 months.

You must submit the application for admission 6 weeks before the intended examination date.
