Your company is engaged in the commercial transport of goods or passengers and the validity of your company card is about to expire? Then you can apply for a follow-up card from the relevant office.

If the validity of your company card expires, you can

• as an entrepreneur or
• as a person with power of representation or authorization

you can apply for a follow-up card.

The company card is issued impersonally to your company and is valid for 5 years after personalization by the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA). You must apply for a new continuation card in good time before the card expires. You can submit the application no earlier than 6 months before the expiration date.

As an entrepreneur, you are responsible for the proper use of the card or cards. In addition, you must ensure that the company card is entered into the tachograph at the beginning and end of the vehicle use for your company in order to assign the use of the vehicle to your company.
