Kraftfahrzeugkennzeichen; Beantragung und Reservierung eines Wunschkennzeichens

Would you like a specific combination of letters or numbers for your license plate, e.g. your initials, the abbreviation of your company or your date of birth or even the license plates of a previous registration district?

For a fee, you can apply for a special license plate or reserve one in advance.

The transfer of a license plate to another vehicle is also a special request license plate, regardless of whether the license plate was previously allocated "as a request" or was in use as a so-called serial license plate.

Please note: You can only receive a special license plate as part of a vehicle registration. Subsequent changes to a license plate combination allocated to a vehicle are only possible for an additional fee.

In addition to the registration fees, there are also fees for selecting the desired license plate (EUR 10.20) and, if applicable, reservation fees (EUR 2.60).

The registration authorities offer an online service on the Internet. At most registration authorities, you can also reserve or apply for vanity plates in person, in writing or by telephone.
