If you have lost one or both of your vehicle's license plates, if they have been stolen or if they are no longer legible, a new license plate must be issued. The stolen or lost license plate will not be issued again for at least 10 years and will be marked with a tracing notice.

This is the only way to prevent you from being charged if third parties commit administrative offenses or criminal acts with your old license plates.

You may not operate your vehicle without license plates.

• valid identity card or passport
• Registration certificate Part I and II
• Original test report on the last main inspection
• at the request of the registration authority; declaration in lieu of an oath by the vehicle owner
• in case of theft: report the theft to the police
• if necessary still existing number plate
