You can buy game from the district foresters’ own hunts.

You can buy venison from roe deer, red deer, fallow deer or wild boar, cut open with the skin or rind.

• These terms come from hunting language; they refer to the whole animal including the head and legs but without the innards.

The game comes from ecologically necessary hunting in the Hamburg state forests.

The offer varies depending on the forest district and depends on the game species present and the hunting season.

The Klövensteen and Niendorfer Gehege district forestry offices hold sales promotions for prepared game meat, such as leg, back, salami, on certain occasions (e.g. St. Hubertus, the pre-Christmas period, Easter).

The purchase price depends on the type of game and its weight and is calculated according to the current game price list, which is available in every district forestry office.
In addition, there is VAT, currently at 7%.
In the case of wild boar, additional costs for the veterinary examination and trichinae inspection will be charged if this is carried out by the district forestry office.

The following payment methods are possible:

• Purchase on account in all district forestry offices

Sales promotions for special occasions e.g. Hubertus, Easter etc. in the Klövensteen and Niendorfer Gehege forestry offices

• Card payment with Girocard, debit or credit card (no Amex)
• Cash payment

• Send your purchase request by email to the desired district forestry office
• Collection on site is by arrangement

Special promotions for the sale of processed game meat, e.g. leg, back, salami, take place in the Klövensteen and Niendorfer Gehege district forestry offices.

There may be waiting periods in case of non-availability (waiting list, interested parties list), especially for wild boar in the southern districts or when selling processed game (leg, back, salami, etc.) on special sales dates in the Klövensteen and Niendorfer Gehege district forestry offices.

• Delivery is not possible. The game is taken from the refrigerator on site.
