If you discover head lice infestation in your child, the community facility that your child regularly visits (e.g. day-care centers, schools or similar facilities) must be informed immediately.
The management of the community facility must immediately notify the health department and provide information relating to the illness and person. Head lice infestation is the most common parasitic disease in Europe. Anyone can get head lice. This is not due to poor hygiene. Head lice spread quickly, especially in places where many children come together.
Children with head lice are not allowed to enter rooms of the communal facility, not to use facilities of the communal facility and not take part in events of the communal facility until they are no longer allowed to spread the lice. A doctor's certificate is only required if a person has had recurrent lice within four weeks. This corresponds to the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute
