Degrees from EU/EEA/Switzerland
- As a rule, higher education diplomas in the field of architecture from the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland are automatically recognized if the entitlement in the country of origin has been notified accordingly in accordance with the EU Directive on the recognition of professional qualifications. In that case, there will be no equivalence test for the completed degree.
- If the degree is not notified in the EU country of origin according to the EU directive on the recognition of professional qualifications, an equivalent university education and two years of professional experience after the university degree must be proven.
Degrees from non-EU/EEA countries
The prerequisite for recognition is that the equivalence of the foreign university degree with the corresponding German degree is established and two years of professional experience after the university degree is proven.
