Reserving a personalized license plate costs EUR 2.60. The allocation of the personalized license plate as part of the vehicle registration process costs an additional EUR 10.20. The fee is based on the Fee Schedule for Measures in Road Traffic (GebOSt).

• Access the online service and reserve your desired license plate there.
• Bring your reservation confirmation with you to your appointment at the LBV.
• Your vehicle can be registered with your desired license plate at your appointment.
• Alternatively, you can select your desired license plate during the registration process on site.

• The license plate reservation is valid for 28 days.
• After the reservation period has expired, the license plate will be generally available again if the vehicle has not yet been registered with the license plate.
• Online license plate reservation is subject to a fee. Payment is due upon vehicle registration.
• Vintage, seasonal and electric license plates can also be reserved.

The reserved license plate can only be allocated on-site if the personalized license plate has been reserved for the person or company to whom the vehicle is to be registered. Transferring the personalized license plate to third parties is not possible.
