There is a closing time for the restaurants and events, by which time operations must be stopped. You can apply for the suspension to be lifted.
Some countries have a curfew for restaurants and events. Businesses must cease during this time. You can request a waiver of the curfew. The legal requirements vary from country to country.
In the Free and Hanseatic City, restaurants and bars are subject to a curfew from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights. During this time, restaurants must close.
For musical performances, shows and other entertainment events, the daily curfew is from midnight to 6 a.m.
These closing times do not apply on New Year's Eve or May 1 and 2. If your business is part of a festival or market, this closing time does not apply to you either.
The curfews are intended to protect the public from ongoing noise pollution.
You can request an exception. A restriction would have to be in the public interest, which corresponds to the "public need" in your request. This interest must be explained in detail in the application.
