If you, as a water testing facility, want to carry out tests on behalf of the authorities or for your own control, you must apply for a license (notification). You can obtain this license for the testing of wastewater, surface water, groundwater and raw water.
This authorization does not authorize you to take samples and analyze drinking water.

If your company is not based in Hamburg:
- The federal state in which your company is based does not offer such notification.
- You plan to work in Hamburg.
You meet the requirements
- to the investigation body and its organisation,
- the reliability and expertise of the person in charge of the investigation body and
- the number and expertise of the staff of the investigation centre
The fee for the approval of the testing center depends on the number of testing areas and is between 325.00 and 3000.00 euros.
- You submit the application for “approval as a water testing facility” together with the required documents to the responsible authority.
- The responsible authority will examine your application and your documents. If necessary, the responsible authority will request further documents or information from you.
- The responsible authority will decide on your application.
- You will receive a notification from the responsible authority.
- They are announced as water testing stations by the responsible body via the internet portal of the research system for measuring stations and experts (ReSyMeSa). Their notification is valid in all federal states.
Processing usually takes 3 months after all required documents have been received.

6. Gas chromatography methods,
7. HPLC method,
