If you want to discharge pre-treated wastewater from a small sewage treatment plant into a body of water, you need a water law permit. You must apply for the permit in advance from the responsible authority
A small sewage treatment plant is a wastewater treatment plant from which less than eight cubic metres of wastewater from households and similar wastewater are discharged per day.
The wastewater from the small sewage treatment plant can seep into the ground or be discharged into a surface water body.
Surface waters include rivers, lakes, canals, streams, ditches and ponds.
The permit specifies the type and extent of use. It may be linked to conditions and ancillary provisions. In contrast to an authorization, a permit can be revoked by the authorities.
