Benefits under the Federal Pension Act are granted on application to persons whose health has been impaired as a result of war, military or military-like service.

• Compensation pensions

In addition, a care allowance can be granted if the widow of an injured person with a care allowance according to level II has cared for them for more than 10 years during the marriage.

• Orphan's pension/orphan's allowance

• Parents' pension

• Medical and health treatment benefits
  This includes medical and dental treatment, hospital treatment, the provision of orthopaedic aids and cures.

• War victims' welfare
  War victims and war survivors are entitled to war victims' welfare benefits, which include, in particular, vocational rehabilitation assistance, recuperation assistance, supplementary subsistence assistance, assistance for the elderly and sickness benefits.

An entitlement under the BVG (Federal Pension Act) only applies to persons from the 1st and 2nd World Wars:

• War victims among the civilian population

War victims' welfare benefits are paid to entitled persons under the BVG if they are unable to cover their existing needs from their own income and assets as a result of the injury or loss of their main breadwinner.
