Would you like to know whether there are any suspected contaminated sites or harmful soil changes on a property? Then you can obtain information from the register of contaminated sites.
Sites suspected of being contaminated are, on the one hand, plots of land belonging to decommissioned businesses/plants and other plots of land on which environmentally hazardous substances have been handled (contaminated sites) and, on the other hand, plots of land belonging to decommissioned waste disposal plants and other plots of land on which waste has been treated, stored or deposited (contaminated landfills).
The competent authority keeps a register of contaminated sites in which areas suspected of being contaminated are registered.
For various reasons, a property owner or a person with a legitimate interest requires information as to whether a property is suspected of being contaminated. For this purpose, an application for information from the register of contaminated sites can be submitted to the competent authority.
To provide information to persons who are not themselves the owner of the requested property, a power of attorney from the owner must be presented.
Information on contaminated sites is provided to every citizen in accordance with the Environmental Information Act.
If property-related information on contaminated sites is required, for example in connection with the purchase, sale or valuation of a property, the following information is required:
- Name,
- address,
- exact address of the property with parcel and plot for which the information on contaminated sites is required
You can obtain the information conveniently via the online service "Property-related information on contaminated sites".
For architects and drafters, an inspection for contaminated sites is mandatory for certain building projects in accordance with the State Building Code (LBO). The following are required for construction projects for which this inspection is to be carried out
- the form "Preliminary investigation of contaminated sites",
- a site plan of the building plot with the planned construction project
