Sondernutzung von Straßen Erlaubnis

Permanent use of public street traffic area requires a permit.
Anyone wishing to use the public road surface, whether above or below ground, must obtain permission to do so.

Anyone can use public roads, paths and squares as intended. If you want to use them for something other than intended, you generally need a special use permit.

Examples of when a special use permit may be required include

• Construction site facilities
• Sale of goods of all kinds
• Setting up tables and chairs for outdoor catering
• Erection of scaffolding and containers
• Events and street parties

• Main application: informal or online
• Evidence (optional, depending on the type of special use):
  • Site plan to scale
  • Photos / drawings of the site
  • Construction site layout plan

• No special requirements are necessary.

• You can apply for permission for special use in writing by submitting an informal application.
• You can also submit applications for road obstructions and events online. You will find the links to the relevant online service under "Forms".
  
  • You can submit an application online or in writing by submitting an informal application to the relevant authority.
  • Describe the type, location, extent and duration of the planned special use as precisely as possible. You should also state the impact on the affected area.
  • The road traffic authority will check the application and work out the approval requirements together with
    • the person submitting the application,
    • the road authority,
    • the other authorities affected by the planned special use and
    • the police.
• The road traffic authority will send you, as the applicant, the approved application in the form of a traffic order as a notice. The notice may also contain certain requirements and conditions. Compliance with the conditions may be monitored and violations may be penalized.
• Please note that different authorities are responsible for issuing a permit for special use.

• If you wish to apply for permits for outdoor catering, please contact the Bremerhaven Building Regulations Office.

Please note the following:

• Depending on the type and scope of the special use, you should submit the application in good time in advance so that sufficient time can be allowed for the relevant review procedures.
• You must also apply for a permit to use the airspace above the road (e.g. for advertising structures or vending machines).
• For work on the road, an excavation certificate and a permit under road traffic law may also be required.
• Depending on the type of special use, a corresponding lead time must be planned due to the respective inspection procedures.
