If you wish to operate a restaurant yourself or with a company, you must apply for a permit in accordance with the Bremen Restaurant Act from the Citizens and Public Order Office.
Anyone who serves drinks or food for consumption on the spot on a commercial basis operates a restaurant business.
Anyone who runs a restaurant business serving alcoholic beverages requires a permit.
The Citizens' and Public Order Office is the competent authority for accepting applications for permits to operate restaurants in Bremerhaven in accordance with Section 2 (1) of the Bremen Restaurant Act (BremGastG).

Applications for permits to operate restaurants in Bremerhaven must be submitted in writing or in person to the Citizens' and Public Order Office as the local licensing authority. the locally responsible licensing authority in writing or in person. A representative may also be appointed with a written power of attorney.
