Have you changed your address and would now like to have the new address entered on your ID card/passport/electronic residence permit?

From now on, you do not need an appointment for this at the BürgerServiceCenters Mitte, Nord and Stresemannstrasse. You can do this at the Express counter. Please note the different opening hours of the express counters in the various BürgerServiceCenters.

If you move house, you must have the address on your ID card/electronic residence permit or the place of residence on your passport updated. In the case of an identity card or electronic residence permit, the change of address is indicated by means of a sticker and the address is also changed on the ID chip. In the case of a passport, the change is made by hand and confirmed with a seal.

When deregistering abroad, the ID card authority replaces the address in the ID card and in the electronic storage and processing medium with the note "no residence in Germany"
