The lump sums for the costs of material expenses are graduated according to age and cover the entire, regularly recurring living expenses of a foster child. The lump sums for care and education are independent of age.

You have a permit for full-time care in accordance with § 44 SGB VIII and are in a full-time care relationship.

Foster carers can apply for the monthly lump sums if they have a declaration of assignment from the foster child's legal guardians.
