If you want to set up and operate a plant that could damage the environment or endanger the general public, you need a permit under immission control law.

Due to their nature or operation, installations can cause harmful environmental effects or otherwise endanger, significantly disadvantage or significantly inconvenience the general public or the neighborhood.

If you want to set up and operate such a facility, you need a permit from the competent authority.

Stationary waste disposal facilities for the storage or treatment of waste are also subject to approval.

  • If necessary, ask the competent authority

• You must prove that you will comply with the obligations of the Federal Immission Control Act when constructing and operating a plant.
• No other public law regulations or occupational health and safety concerns stand in the way of the project.

• You submit the signed documents to the authority.
• The competent authority will confirm receipt of the documents and inform you which additional documents it requires to assess the requirements.
• The public and public agencies will be involved.
• You can only start work on your project once you have received approval.

• ELiA-Online is a form-based online service that can also be used to attach additional documents (expert reports, drawings, etc.) to the application or notification using the upload function.
