If you want to plan or demonstrate a performance with pyrotechnic articles such as fireworks in film, musical and television venues as well as in theaters and at concerts, you must apply for a permit.
You need a permit for testing and demonstration in the presence of visitors and participants if you
- plan a stage performance with pyrotechnic effects or fire-hazardous activities.
- use or demonstrate explosive substances or fire-hazardous activities in film and television production facilities.
- You are of legal age.
- For effects of category T1: no further requirements.
- For effects of category T2: You have a permit or are in possession of a certificate of competence
The costs vary depending on the amount of work involved:
- 53.00 EUR per half hour of activity (including travel time, office working time, on-site acceptance)
- Travel allowance: 8.10 EUR
If you want to apply for the permit online:
- You access the online service.
- You can continue without registering again; you can also register using the Business service account. Your company data can then be automatically transferred from the service account to the online application after your initial registration.
- You fill out all mandatory and optional fields and upload any necessary documents.
- The remaining procedural steps correspond to the written procedure.
- You submit your application to the responsible authority.
- The responsible authority will formally examine your application and, if necessary, request any missing documents from you.
- The responsible authority will check whether your application is eligible for approval (approval of pyrotechnicians, effect devices, distances, etc.).
- If the application and the submitted documents fail the review, the responsible body will speak to the pyrotechnician and the applicant about any necessary changes.
- If the test is passed, the responsible body will arrange an appointment to test the pyrotechnic effects and/or fire-hazardous actions in the presence of the pyrotechnician.
- The competent authority grants you approval subject to conditions.
- The effects are tested and the responsible authority draws up an acceptance report on site. The approval has now been fully granted.
